GhettoBitch (aka Marlene Stoller, host of Ghettoradio’s “The ROCK Show”) and filmmaker brother Bryan Michael Stoller in front of one of the many MJ canvasses at the “friends and family” entrance to the Staples Center.
On Tuesday July 7, 2009 I attended the Memorial Service for Michael Jackson at The Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. My brother Bryan Michael Stoller was a very close friend of Michael’s for over twenty years. He asked me to attend the service with him. In the mid 1980’s Bryan wrote and directed a parody of Michael Jackson’s Pepsi commercial. Jackson saw the parody on TV and contacted the TV station asking how he could contact Bryan. Bryan received a phone call one day and the caller said “Hi, this is Michael Jackson”. Bryan says he almost hung up because he thought it was a prank call. Good thing he didn’t because that phone call launched a friendship that lasted over 20 years. In the years to come Bryan would spend many days and weeks at Neverland with Michael. In Bryan’s 2004 Feature Film “Miss Cast Away And The Island Girls” Michael Jackson is featured as “Agent MJ”. Bryan and Michael had plans to co-direct a feature film with Mel Gibson’s company called “They Cage The Animals At Night”. Bryan was scheduled to mentor Michael and his children about filmmaking after his 2009 London Tour. Bryan last saw Michael about 2 months ago when he visited Jackson for a week in Las Vegas. They spoke on the phone 2 weeks before Michael passed away. Since then Bryan has been featured on many news programs talking about his late friend Michael. Woodiewood did an impromptu live phone interview with me the evening of the memorial. So rather than write an article describing how it was to be inside the Staples Center, I have chosen to post this interview because it is more descriptive than anything I could post here and it would be pages long. It is very informative, so please give it a listen. Unfortunately the very beginning of the interview was not recorded so what you will hear is “already in progress, raw and unedited”.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Michael Jackson’s former publicist filed a $44 million lawsuit on Wednesday against the self-styled “King of Pop” for failing to pay her for her services.
Raymone Bain, who represented Jackson during his 2005 trial and acquittal on child sex abuse charges and later managed his business company, filed a breach of contract civil lawsuit against the singer in Washington, D.C.
She said in a statement that she had decided “with deep regret” to sue Jackson, describing him as someone “whom I have greatly admired and respected.”

Michael Jackson’s 50 concerts sell out in five hours!!!
Daaaaaaaaang!
LONDON (AP) — Tickets for Michael Jackson’s 50 London concerts sold out within hours of becoming available, organizers said Friday. The shows are scheduled to kick off in July and stretch into February. The pop singer has said the series, entitled “This is It,” will be his last in the British capital.
Tickets were priced between 50 pounds and 75 pounds ($70 and $105) — but some were went for hundreds of pounds (dollars) on internet auction sites.
UPDATE: Prices on ebay have been as high as $7,500 for a pair of tickets.

Michael Jackson has passed the required medical tests so he can perform this summer in London.
Jackson has no looming diseases or any other physical ailments that would prevent him from getting insurance or making his commitment to AEG Live for 10-30 shows this year. He received a clean bill of at least physical health.
Michael Jackson may announce shows as soon as this Thursday.
Strike A Pose
With a new release due out next year, Michael Jackson took time to interview with Ebony Magazine.
This is the first US magazine interview and cover for Jackson in 10 years. It may be just in time.
Seems like he needs the extra dough to help with his foreclosure woes. For the second or third time this year, Jackson has received a notice of pending foreclosure for the home where his parents live in Encino, California. Janet, who previously came to the rescue for not only the mortgage, but also paid fees and back dues owed to the Neverland employees, may not have to ride in on her white pony this time. Latest word is that a check has just been received.
DeeDee Kupps thinks Jackson has grown pale (har har) after so many daming public humiliations that a foreclosure notice nailed to his parent’s door is probably nothing to bat an eye about.
Jackson is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his Thriller release.
Read more about him in December’s Ebony Magazine.
